Our Team

Josh Crook, Co-founder

Josh Crook is an award winning director of over a dozen feature films. He has received critical acclaim for his work and his films have premiered at Sundance, Toronto International Film Festival, as well as dozens of other festivals across the globe. His film and television work has been broadcast on networks such as PBS, HBO, Showtime, MTV, Starz, and NickToons. His list of clients for commercial work includes: Heineken, Sony, Sam Adams, and Mothers Against Drunk Drivers.

For over twenty years, Josh has worked with thousands of actors, from Tony Award winners to non-professionals, and has created a wide network for collaborators in New York, Los Angeles, and Ohio. In addition to being a co-founder of Emotus Tech, he is also the Program Manager of Hocking College’s School of Film and Video Production (Ohio) and is completing a MFA in Virtual Reality at Ohio University.

Eric Williams, Creative Adviser

Eric Williams introduces cutting edge work using VR Video to capture real world emergency room traumas and has been featured nationally in venues such as the Huffington Post and US News and World Report.  His premier 360-degree VR short narrative “Re: Disappearing” was shown in film festivals around the world.  Eric has worked with corporate and entertainment clients for more than twenty-five years, and is the recipient of numerous awards including “Best New Work” Award from the Writers’ Guild of America, Ohio University Innovation Strategy Award, and an Emmy Award for Interactive Media.  Most recently, Eric is working on a wide variety of VR projects in the healthcare space.  He is currently the director of Ohio University’s MFA in Communication Media Arts program.

John Bowditch, Creative Adviser

John Bowditch is the Director and co-founder of the Game Research and Immersive Design (GRID) Lab in the Scripps College of Communication at Ohio University. In 2011, a commercial wing of the GRID Lab was formed with TechGROWTH Ohio and the Ohio University Innovation Center to foster digital media focused startup companies founded by current and former students.

Professional Research highlights include funded projects from the National Institutes of Health, Department of Labor, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, Ohio Board of Regents, and other private entities. In 2008, John was the lead designer and inventor of the Immersive Video Intel Network (IVIN), a multi-tiered imaging technology that has patents pending. John has produced several award winning films, animations, games, and simulations over the last decade.
